Featuring exhibits that depict the history of Tahoe City, the Gatekeeper's Museum boasts a large collection of historic photographs, oral histories, newspapers and other historic artifacts. Native Americans, the logging industry and the tourism industry are just a few of the exhibits found at this museum. The Marion Steinbach Indian Basket Museum is also located within the Gatekeeper's Museum and features a world-class collection of over 800 utilitarian and fine baskets from 85 tribes throughout California and western North America.

The Watson Cabin Living Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Admission is free, however donations are appreciated and go to the preservation of this historic site.
